“Walkabout(US)” is a WKC registered breeder with the Working Kelpie Council of Australia.
All our dogs are listed in the internationally recognized working Kelpie Studbook of the Working Kelpie Council, Castle Hill, NSW, Australia. Walkabout(US) has been producing working Kelpies in USA from proven imported bloodlines going back to the foundation of the Kelpie breed in AU. In reaching that goal we select for biddable, handy ranch and farm working Kelpies for sheep, goats cattle and stylish dogs for trial. Walkabout(US) pups are introduced to stock as very young pups to evaluate natural drive. We have references of success of Walkabout(US) Dogs working stock in many of the lower 48 states, and exported to Europe/Hungary.
Our program goal has always been to produce social pups, handled from birth. Walkabout(US) dogs make family dogs, companions and valuable working hired hands. Our selection is based on type, natural working style in dogs that have great problem solving ability. We select for an attractive package of sound conformation. Our bloodlines that are recognized as valuable casting muster dogs as well as known to be forceful dogs of courage to work chutes and pens.
Our breeding dogs are negative/negative on Working Kelpie Health panels. Pups from day one are handled, socialized and given the best of a vet recommended health plan.
