Angie and Guy are open-level handlers, trainers, and instructors who compete actively in NCA and MSSA trials. They have been breeding and training top quality working border collies for the past 18 years and providing clinics for novice handlers for the past 7 years. What sets them apart as clinicians is their approachability and communication skills. They both have an ability to work effectively with people who are new to herding and to explain things in a manner that works for them.
This is effectively two separate clinics running simultaneously on the NCTA campus in Curtis, NE.
Clinic 1 will be with Guy Johnson. It will focus on training starting/beginner dogs. Sheep and goats are available for use in this clinic.
Clinic 2 will be with Angie Johnson. It will focus on cattle trial handling skills. It is for people with trained dogs that are either already trialing or are ready to start trialing at the novice or intermediate level. We will be working with beef replacement heifers. Dogs should be able to outrun and fetch cattle at arena length and be fairly solid on inside flanks.
Start times will be 8:00 AM each day. Cowboy church optional at 7:30 AM Sunday.
