Jamie will be working with the young/green dog group:
We are excited to have Jamie come share his highly successful puppy starting methods with us. He’s especially gifted at unlocking a young dogs talents , setting them up for success as useful partners on the ranch or trial. Jamie and his family ranch near Fox Valley in the south west corner of Saskatchewan, where they run cow calf pairs as well as yearlings.
“I have always had sic’em type of border collies, using them to drive, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I bought an unstarted dog called West from Jamie Gardner that border collies became an integral part of our operation.
West was a lot of dog but also very natural and he had good natural balance. He took to training quickly, teaching me more than I taught him. I also got many pointers along the way from handlers such as Jamie Gardner, Milt Scott, Corey Perry, and Dale Montgomery. I started training more pups and things just took off from there. I’ve trained and sold many pups to top handlers and they’ve also sent me their pups to get started. I also enjoy sheep and cattle trials when time allows.”
