Bozeman Herding Sheep Trial

Trial will be held in a 95’x140’ sand arena.

Open handles from a post roughly 120’ from setout and the class may include a shed or sort. Intermediate and Nursery handle from a line that is across roughly half the arena though they send from the Open post. 

Novice may move freely across the arena though handlers may not go into the pen or chutes for safety.

Time for all classes starts when the dog or handler leaves the post. Grips will be called.

For all classes at least one animal must complete an obstacle before moving to the next obstacle. Five points will be awarded for each sheep through an obstacle and the time limit is 4 minutes.

Placements are determined by points then time.

This is an outdoor trial in Montana. Please dress appropriately. Trial will be moved indoors to a 60 x 90 foot arena if the snow is too deep. The trial will be canceled if the predicted highs are less than 15 degrees.
