Driving Directions

Access to the trial field and herding lessons is off Franklin Butte Rd, there is no GPS address.      
Herding lessons and trials are not accessible from the house.  To reach the lesson area and trial field please follow these directions.

From the South:
Take I-5 to exit #233 for Albany. Turn left at the light at the top of the ramp (highway 20). About 8 miles on take highway 226 to the left. Follow 226 into Scio then turn right (following 226) just past the Car Quest auto parts store and before you cross the bridge. Travel just over a mile and turn right on Franklin Butte Rd. Travel about 400 yards up Franklin Butte Rd. and you will see a big double gate on the right, you will see large white tents and some sheds. Open the gate, drive in and close the gate behind you.

From the North:
Take I-5 to exit #238 (the Scio Exit). At the bottom of the ramp turn left. At the stop light in Jefferson turn right onto Jefferson-Scio Rd.. Follow this road into Scio. At the stop sign turn rt., go through downtown then turn left onto highway 226 just over the bridge. Travel just over a mile and turn right on Franklin Butte Rd. Travel about 400 yards up Franklin Butte Rd. and you will see a big double gate on the right, you will see large white tents and some sheds. Open the gate, drive in and close the gate behind you.

Alternate route for Salem area residents:
Take Highway 22 east toward Stayton. Take the Stayton exit and turn right at the bottom of the ramp. Follow this road through Stayton, it will eventually become the Stayton-Scio Rd. Follow this all the way to Scio. At the stop sigh turn left. after you pass through a short downtown cross the bridge then turn left onto highway 226 toward Lyons. Travel just over a mile and turn right on Franklin Butte Rd. Travel about 400 yards up Franklin Butte Rd. and you will see a big double gate on the right, you will see large white tents and some sheds. Open the gate, drive in and close the gate behind you.
