The Sonoma Wine Country Sheepdog Trial is held at Sandra Milberg's farm in beautiful Santa Rosa, CA. For those coming to watch the event, parking is $5.00 at the gate.
Course(s)
There are two open fields which most handlers refer to as the "hill course" and the "flat course." The pro-novice, nursery/pro-novice combined and nursery classes are held on the "flat course."
March 23rd and 24th
$90/dog/day
Cash, awards and ribbons. Handler's meeting is at 7:00am each day with the first dog running at 7:30am.
March 25th
$45/dog NURSERY and $60/dog NURSERY/PRO-NOVICE or $55/dog Pro-Novice only
Cash and ribbons to 5th place for the combined class and ribbons to 4th place for the Nursery only class. This means there are TWO Nursery classes and only ONE Pro-Novice class. Handler's meeting is at 8am with the first dog running at 8:15am.
Set-out
As in previous years, set out is "paid" and done by a lively crew of very talented people. In previous years this has included Derek Fisher, Gloria Atwater, Amy Coapman, and Ellen Skillings. We may ask for open handlers to help set out or run the pens for a short duration so that the set out crew can run their own dogs.
