My name is Sarah, my husband and I live on my family’s ranch outside Haines, OR with our 2 boys. We run yearlings and I have a small flock of sheep. I offer lessons as well as training for outside dogs with an emphasis on providing the dog a foundation that will allow them to succeed in any area, from working the ranch to the trial ring. I utilize a pressure and release training method with a goal for the dog to develop and understand their natural stock sense to allow them to work independently in the pasture. However, I also want the dog to be able to be competitive in a trial setting. I have multiple dogs who currently work the ranch and feedlot but are also competitive in the trial ring. I have been trialing with the MSSA for the past 4 years and in that time have progressed into an Open handler. My dog SLV Pote and I were the MSSA 2025 Intermediate National Cattledog Champions. Pote is also a full time ranch dog who makes a living everyday at home. I occasionally have puppies, started, and finished dogs for sale as well.
