“Jared Epp and his wife Tasha have been raising and training stock dogs at their home east of Blackstrap Lake in Saskatchewan for almost 20 years. They got started in 2000 when, as a wedding present, they received their first border collie from a friend who knew they wanted to learn to use them. Epp has been training and selling them ever since.
Since 2004, Jared has been doing conservational vegetation management with sheep, goats, and stockdogs in and around Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. As these projects have been either in urban or rural type settings with public access, an educational interpretive component has been added to the jobs.
People of all ages and backgrounds have been eager to observe and learn about the relationship between grasslands, grazing animals, and predators (stockdogs). This work has definitely influenced Jared’s views and approach to selecting, raising, and training stockdogs that he’s looking forward to discussing with you.
Can’t make it to the live webinar? Don’t worry. All participants will be able to view the webinar on the BCSDA YouTube channel for 30 days afterwards.”
