Paul grew up on a small dairy farm in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. His parents allowed him to explore all aspects of agriculture through 4H, including raising sheep and dog obedience. He went on to work with foster/rescue dogs after college which introduced him to herding breeds. He has worked with cattle dogs, kelpies, and border collies. As a USBCHA handler, he has seen much success with his dogs. He was the 2022 Fall Foliage Reserve Champion, and 2023 Champion, which gave him an opportunity to compete at the prestigious Soldier Hollow this past spring. At home, he maintains a trial sized flock of sheep at Ox Creek, putting on a number sheep dog trials in Canandaigua, NY. Paul also teaches herding lessons and takes in dogs for training.
